Customers often ask us, how do we set the tolerance of the
colorimeter?
Today we're going to talk about the tolerance.
Explaining tolerance in one sentence is "tolerance of color".
The function of tolerance
We know that the color model or color difference formula, the final conclusion or value, are to be close to our visual perception. The function of tolerance is that when we measure, it can replace the human eye and set the tolerance of color.
For example, when we set the tolerance value to 1.0, the color difference value we measure is △ value. As long as this value is more than the tolerance "1.0", and the later shows that the product is unqualified.
Setting tolerance allows us to know more clearly whether the product is qualified. Does the value of the tolerance affect the color difference value of the product?
The answer is no.
For example, we set the tolerance value to 2.0. After testing the sample, we get the following values. The △ a is 4.02, and the words show "reddish" and "unqualified".
We change the tolerance value to 5.0 and then test the sample again.
It can be seen that even if the value of △a remains unchanged, the word displayed later is "qualified" because of the tolerance.
However, if the measurement is not affected, then the values of △L, △a, △B and △ E*ab will not be affected.
That is to say, setting the tolerance value only directly affect the displayed words but not affect our measured data.
If the company does not make special requests, in general, the tolerance will be set as "1.0" - "2.0".
Of course, we can also adjust it according to the requirements of our company or industry.
